Using SME AI Office in Malaysia
A Malaysian business works in ringgit from the first screen. Your customers see RM on your website, shop, booking and class pages, and pay you by bank transfer to the details you give. Your back office is plain bookkeeping with a simple profit and loss.
Signing up as a Malaysian business
Start from any page at smeaio.com/my and press Start free. Signing up from there makes your business a Malaysian one.
Sign up with your email or with Google, the same as anywhere else.
Your back office opens in ringgit. Settings shows Country: Malaysia and your money in MYR.
The country is set once, when you sign up. If you signed up from the Singapore site by mistake, message us on WhatsApp and we will move you across.
Tell customers how to pay you
Open the payment settings of what you sell: your shop, your bookings, or the settings of your Business (F&B, Fitness Studio, Personal Coach, Learning Centre).
Fill in How customers pay you. Write it the way you would text a customer, for example: Maybank 5123 4567 8901, Kedai Kek Mama Sdn Bhd. Please use your order number as the reference. A DuitNow ID works too.
Save. It is one setting for everything you sell: change it in the shop and your booking and class pages show the new details too.
At checkout your customer sees the amount in RM, your details and their order or booking number to use as the reference.
When the money arrives
After paying, your customer presses I have paid. The order or booking shows that they say they have paid.
Check your bank. When the money is there, press Money received. The order is confirmed, a pack or a term starts, and the sale goes into your books in RM.
There is no automatic confirmation in Malaysia yet, so always check your bank before pressing it.
What is different from Singapore
The same: your websites, bookings, packs and class credits, classes by the term, the online shop and F&B ordering, the till, inventory, customers, reviews and your blog. Invoices and your profit and loss work the same, in RM.
Not in Malaysia:
Tax. There is no GST, SST or e-invoicing. SME AI Office keeps your books; it does not prepare or file tax.
Payroll. There is no EPF, SOCSO, EIS or PCB.
Company compliance deadlines and PayNow, which are Singapore’s.
If you need one of these, tell us on WhatsApp. A lot of SME AI Office was added because a customer asked.
Prices in Malaysia
Free: RM0, no card, up to 15 sales a month. The sales are counted the same way as in Singapore: how the 15 sales are counted.
Pro 365: RM49 a month or RM499 a year. No cap, and everything.
Done for you: from RM199 a month, set up and looked after by us.
Paying for Pro 365 by card is coming soon. Until then, message us on WhatsApp and we will move you to Pro 365.
Questions
Can my customers pay by card or FPX?
Not yet. For now they pay by bank transfer (a DuitNow transfer included) to the details you give. Tell us if you need cards; it is on our list.
Can I receive payments in Singapore dollars?
Your pages and books are in ringgit. A receipt or an invoice in another currency is converted to ringgit in your books at the rate in your settings.
Is my data kept separately from Singapore?
Your business’s records are yours alone, whichever country you are in. Only you and the people you add can see them.
