Connect Claude

Connect your own Claude to SME AI Office and ask about your business in your own words: your profit and loss, who owes you money, your GST, your staff costs, your orders and stock. Claude reads only what your own access allows, and it cannot change or delete anything. Connecting is free on every plan, the Free plan too. You need your own Claude plan that allows connectors.

Connect Claude

Do this once, on Claude on the web or the Claude desktop app. Claude on your phone then uses the same connection.

1. In SME AI Office, open Settings, then the Claude tab. Press Copy link. The link is https://smeaio.com/mcp.

2. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors. Choose Add custom connector. Name it SME AI Office, paste the link and press Add.

3. Press Connect. A page from SME AI Office opens. Sign in if it asks, check what Claude will be able to read, and press Allow.

4. Start a chat in Claude and ask about your business.

Claude connects to the company that is open in SME AI Office when you press Allow. If you work in more than one company, switch to the right one in the top bar first.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an admin of your Claude organisation may need to add the connector first.

Ask about your business

Ask the way you would ask your accountant. For example:

• Which months this year made the least profit, and why?

• Which of my expenses grew the most compared with last year?

• Who owes me money, and which invoices are overdue?

• What is my GST likely to be this quarter?

• What does each staff member cost me each month, including CPF?

• Which services or products bring in the most, and when are my busiest days?

Claude can read your profit and loss month by month, every revenue and expense entry, your cash flow, your balance sheet (Pro 365), your GST F5 figures, invoices and what customers owe, payroll and staff cost, contacts, bookings, shop orders, stock levels, and company compliance and deadlines. It sees only the parts your own access in SME AI Office allows. Contacts’ emails and phone numbers are left out unless you ask for them.

Claude can make mistakes, so check important figures in SME AI Office before you act on them. Nothing Claude says is tax or accounting advice.

Ask how to do something

Ask “how do I…” in your own words, for example “How do I send a quote, and turn it into an invoice when they accept?”. Claude answers step by step from these help guides, with a link to the right page. If the guides do not cover it, it will say so and point you to Feedback in SME AI Office or our WhatsApp.

Let Claude suggest entries

This is a beta, and off unless you turn it on. With it on, Claude can:

• Record an expense or income, with the receipt file (or an asset, on Pro 365)

• Add a customer or supplier to Contacts

• Draft an invoice (you still check it and send it yourself)

To turn it on: tick Also let Claude suggest entries on the page where you press Allow, or later tick Let Claude suggest entries beside your connection in Settings › Claude. You need edit access to the profit and loss for entries and invoices, and to Contacts for contacts.

Nothing goes into your books until you approve it. Every suggestion waits on the From Claude board, under P&L in the menu, with a count of what is waiting:

1. Claude places each receipt in Money in, Money out or Asset. If it was not sure, the card is in Waiting.

2. Drag a card to the right column, or on a phone use Move to…. A card in Waiting has to be moved before it can be approved.

3. Press Approve on a card, or Approve all for a whole column. Drop a card on Not for the books to turn it down.

4. Contacts and invoices sit below the columns: press Add contact or Make the draft.

Approved by mistake? Press Undo on it in the decided list, and what approving made comes straight back off your books. A card you turned down can be put back with Put back. Claude cannot change or delete anything already in SME AI Office.

Send Claude your receipts

• In a Claude chat: attach the photo or PDF and ask Claude to record it. A box appears in the chat to send the file along with the suggestion.

• A folder of receipts on your computer: use Claude’s Cowork. Give it the folder and ask it to record them in SME AI Office. It sends each one with its file.

• If the box does not appear: Claude gives you an upload link for that card. Open it on your phone or computer and pick the file.

• You keep the file yourself: tell Claude the file name, or press I keep it myself on the card. The name is saved with the entry so you can search for it later. You can also approve a card with no file, or press Attach to add one.

Files can be JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC or PDF, up to 10 MB each. The card warns you if the same receipt is already in your books. On Pro 365 our own receipt reader checks the file too, and the card warns you if its total or date does not match what Claude wrote.

Your team, and more than one company

• Team members can connect their own Claude from the same tab. Each connection belongs to one person, and their Claude sees only what that person can see in SME AI Office. Their access is checked every time Claude asks, so a change to their access counts straight away.

• More than one company: one connection reads one company, the one that was open when you pressed Allow. Claude will not add the same link twice, so to read another company: disconnect, switch company in the top bar, and connect again.

• If someone leaves the company, their connection ends by itself.

Disconnect

In SME AI Office, open Settings › Claude and press Disconnect beside the connection. Claude stops reading SME AI Office straight away. You can also remove the connector in Claude’s own connector settings.

SME AI Office keeps only the connection (when it was made and last used), never your questions or Claude’s answers. What Claude reads is handled under your own Claude account and Anthropic’s terms. More in our privacy policy.
