Help/Membership/Your club website
Your club website
Your club gets a website with a directory of your members, a page for each of them, your committee, a page where new people apply to join, and any pages of your own. Every word and photo on it is yours to change. Members fill in their own profiles; you approve them.
Switch it on
Press Website in the Membership sidebar.
Type a Web address, such as tampines-runners. Your website is then at smeaio.com/s/tampines-runners.
Pick a Colour scheme: Navy, Forest, Plum or Ochre.
Under Pages, press Edit beside Home and change its words and photo (see below). Your website starts with a home page, Members and Committee already filled in.
Under Joining and the member directory, list your themes, one per line. Each member picks one, and the directory can be filtered by them.
Press Preview to look at it while it is off. When you are happy, tick Website on and press Save.
Edit your pages
Every page is made of sections, top to bottom. Change the words and photos in each, add new ones, move them or take them out.
On Website, under Pages, press Edit beside a page.
Press a section to open it. Type into its boxes, add or change photos, and pick where each button goes: one of your pages, Join / sign in, or a web address.
To add one, pick it under Add a section: a big header, words, cards, people (advisors, speakers), numbers, numbered steps with photos (directions), numbered sections (terms, rules), a wide photo, a call to action, or your featured members. Move it with the arrows.
Press Save, then Preview.
In the words boxes, a blank line starts a new paragraph, a line starting with “- ” is a list, **two stars** make words bold, and [words](https://…) makes a link.
Your own pages: type a name under Add a page, such as The Course or Directions, and press + Add page. Tick Menu, Footer or Small links at the bottom (for Terms and Privacy) to say where it shows, and use the arrows to set the menu order. Members and Committee each hold the live list of members; you can add sections above and below it and rename the page, but not remove it.
Logo, menu and footer
Under Logo, menu and footer: add your logo (a PNG with a see-through background works best, and a second one for the dark footer if your logo has dark lettering), the words on the button at the end of the menu, the footer's words and link, and your social links. Your email, phone and address in the footer come from Where to find you, the same details as Settings.
Under Sign-in page, change the words beside the sign-in box. Under Joining and the member directory, you can add a picture for each theme (shown when a member has no cover photo), change what you call a member (“34 founding members”), and tick Mark members whose profile is complete to label and sort them, with your own words for each label.
How people join
On your website they press Join the club, type their email and get a six-digit code by email.
They fill in their profile: their name, business or venture name, a short bio, a theme and a profile photo are needed. Links, a cover photo and the rest are up to them.
They press Send for approval. They go on your register as an Applicant, and you get a Telegram message if Telegram is connected.
To stop online applications, untick Let people apply to join on the website. People already on your register can still sign in.
Approve, feature or hide a member
The number next to Members in the sidebar is how many people are waiting. On Members, press Show them, open each person and press Approve. They are on the website straight away.
On a member’s page, the Website profile card has:
- Show on the member directory: untick to take them off the website without touching their membership.
- Featured: shown first, and on the home page.
- On the committee, with a Committee title such as Chair or Treasurer: shown on the Committee page.
- Edit profile, Change photo and Change cover, to fix something for them.
What members can do
A member signs in on your website with a code sent to the email on your register, and edits their own profile: their photos, bio, links and profile address. They cannot approve themselves, put themselves on the committee or feature themselves.
Your own domain
With Pro 365, once your website is on, the Your own domain card on the Website page connects your domain: type it with the www, like www.yourclub.sg, add the one record it shows, and set yourclub.sg to forward to www.yourclub.sg where you bought the domain, so people who leave out the www still arrive. Emails still come from SME AI Office in your club’s name.
Questions
Does a member need a password?
No. Each time, they type their email and get a six-digit code. It works for a month on that browser.
Where does the website get its members from?
Your register. Everybody whose standing is Member and who is shown on the directory appears. Applicants, suspended and resigned members do not.
Can I use my own colours?
Pick one of the four colour schemes. Every club’s website has the same design in its own colours.
Can I change a page's web address?
For your own pages, yes: open the page and change Web address. Buttons that point at the page follow it. The old address stops working, so change it before you share it.
