Discounts and customer rates

A discount code is something anyone can type at checkout. A customer rate is a price only for the people you tag, such as members or staff, and it applies by itself. Either way the PayNow QR already shows the lower amount, so there is nothing to refund.

Make a discount code

  1. Go to Discounts. Type The code, such as MUM10. Capitals and spaces do not matter to the customer.

  2. Under What comes off? choose A percentage or An amount, and type How much?.

  3. Under And it comes off… choose What they buy, The delivery, or Both together. For goods, you can tick Which products?; leave them all unticked for everything.

  4. If you like, set Starts, Ends and How many times can it be used?. Read the sentence under the form: it says exactly what the code will do. Press Add this code.

Ten per cent off two products for November, for the first 50 customers.

Give the code out on a flyer, in a post or to one regular. A box to type it appears at checkout only while you have a code that works.

The customer types MUM10 and the total drops from S$88.00 to S$79.20 before they pay.

Manage your codes

Your codes are listed under Working now, Not started yet and Finished, each with how many times it has been used. Use Edit, Switch off or Delete. A code that has been used is best switched off rather than deleted.

Each code shows what it does and how often it has been used.

Give members their own price

  1. First tag the people in your contacts, for example with the tag member. The price is matched on the email address they type at checkout.

  2. Go to Customer rates. Under Which customers? type or pick the tag.

  3. Under How is their price worked out? choose A percentage off, An amount off, or Their own price. For their own price, type what they pay for each product. A box left empty stays at the normal price; it is never free.

Members pay S$60 for a bouquet and S$78 for a rose box. The sunflower jar stays at S$45.
  4. Press Add this rate. Adding a rate makes the email box at checkout required, because the email is how a member is recognised.

A rate is for pre-orders. At the stall, walk-ups pay your normal price and there is no box for a code. Codes and member prices work on your pre-order checkout and at the counter.

Questions

Can a code and a rate both apply?

Yes. The member price comes first, then the code comes off that.

Can a code take off more than the delivery charge?

No. A code for goods never touches the delivery, and a code for delivery never makes it less than free.

Can I give a discount at the counter?

Yes. In the POS, type a code, or type an amount in Off at the counter. See Sell at the counter.
