Help/Bookings/Set up

Set up your booking page

Say what people can book, where it happens, when you are open and how you get paid. Then switch the page on and share one link.

Screenshots use a fictional business and figures. Select an image to view it full size.

Every settings page under Setup saves itself the moment you stop typing. There is no Save button to forget. The one exception is Opening hours, which has a Save my week button.

Add what people can book

  1. Go to Bookings, then Services, and press Add a service.

  2. Give it a Name, then fill in How long, and what it costs. Press Add another length to offer more than one, each with its own price. The customer picks the length they want and sees the price beside it.

One service with two lengths, each with its own price.
  3. Answer How is one booking made up? Most services are One person, one session. Choose Several people when one customer books for a group, or Several sessions back to back when they can book a longer run in one go. Only the boxes that belong to your answer appear.

  4. Untick Ask for payment when they book for something free, such as a first chat. They still book; they just skip the PayNow step.

  5. Under Where it happens, tick the places this service is offered at. Tick none and it is offered everywhere. Add steps under Things to tick off on the day if the work has parts to work through.

Something that runs on a fixed timetable with several people in the room is a class, not a service. See classes and event days.

Say where it happens

  1. Go to Places and press Add a place for each address customers come to. Leave How many appointments at once at one unless you really can run two separate appointments at the same time.

  2. Two switches sit underneath. Going to the customer adds an option where the customer types their own address when they book, and you can add a travel charge. Online sessions adds a video or phone option, with How they join shown only on the customer’s own booking page.

Your studio, plus going to the customer with a S$25 charge.

Set your opening hours

  1. Go to Opening hours. Under A normal week, set the hours for each day. A second block is offered under the first, which is how you say you close for lunch. Press Copy Monday to weekdays to save typing, then Save my week.

Mornings and afternoons, closed for lunch, closed on Sunday.
  2. Under each block, pick where it applies. Anywhere means every place, including going to the customer. Any of my places is the same without the travelling. Or tap the places themselves.

  3. Under Days that are different, press Add a day to close a day, block part of one, or open on a day you are normally shut. One entry can cover a run of days, such as a week away.

Booking rules

Go to Booking rules. These sit on top of your opening hours:

  1. Go to Getting paid. Pick what PayNow using is (a PayNow VPA, UEN or mobile number), type it, and type the Name on the account. Each customer gets a PayNow QR with the amount and their booking reference already filled in.

Your PayNow details, the hold time and your paperwork.
  2. Set Hold the slot for (minutes). A customer gets this long to pay before the slot goes back on sale.

  3. Leave Put booking money into my P&L on and every payment you confirm becomes revenue in your accounts. Leave Make an invoice for every payment I confirm on and each one gets a paid invoice, filed on that customer’s contact.

Bookings never moves money. Customers pay you straight into your own account. You look at your banking app and confirm the payment. If your business account supports it, the PayNow Auto-Confirm card on the same page can confirm payments for you.

Your page, and going live

  1. Go to Booking page. Choose a Link name (your link becomes smeaio.com/s/ plus that name), the Business name customers see, a Colour and A line of welcome.

  2. Optional: on About & photos, add a cover photo, a few words about you, up to ten photos, the questions people always ask, and your social links. On Policies, write your cancellation, no-show and refund policies. Customers read them before they book.

  3. At the top of Booking page is a short checklist: Booking link, Somewhere to meet, A service and Opening hours. When all four are ticked, turn on the switch. It changes to Booking page is live.

All four ticked, and the page is live.
  4. Share the link. On Overview you can press Copy link or Download QR to put the QR on a card, your shopfront or an invoice.

What your customer sees when they open your link.

Questions

Why can I not switch the page on?

One of the four things in the checklist is missing. The missing one has an add link beside it. An event day or a class counts on its own, because it carries its own place, hours and price.

Do customers need an account?

No. They book with a name and an email or mobile. To move or cancel later they sign in with a six-digit code we email them.

Can I offer the same service at two places?

Yes. Tick both under Where it happens. The customer picks a day and a time, then where to meet, and only places free at that time are offered.
