Products, options and add-ons

Your counter and your website sell from one list of products. Give a product sizes and colours, and each combination gets its own price, stock, SKU and barcode. Add-ons, such as gift wrap, are picked when it sells.

Add a product

  1. In Retail, go to Products and press Add item. Type the Name, and a Category if you like. Categories become the filter chips on POS.

  2. Answer Does it come in different sizes, colours or other options? For a product that comes in one version, answer No and fill in the SKU, Barcode, Selling price (S$) and Cost (S$).

  3. Answer Do you keep count of how many you have? with Yes, type the level to warn you at, and your Starting stock at each location.

  4. Press Save item.

Sizes, colours and other options

Answer Yes to the options question when each version is counted on its own, such as a shirt in sizes and colours.

  1. Type an Option name, such as Size, and its Choices, separated by commas: M, L. Press Add another option for Colour: Navy, Sand. You can have up to three options.

  2. Every combination becomes its own version. Two options with two choices each make four: M / Navy, M / Sand, L / Navy and L / Sand.

  3. Drag ⠿ (or press ▲ ▼) to change the order of the options. Size then Colour reads M / Navy; Colour then Size reads Navy / M. Changing the order keeps each version’s SKU, price and stock.

  4. In the table, give each version its own SKU, barcode, price and cost, or press Use this price for all and Use this cost for all.

Add-ons

An add-on is something the customer picks when it sells that is not a version of its own: Gift wrap +3.00, a name on the card, Extra shot +1.00 or Less milk −0.20. Add-ons never change your stock count.

  1. Under Any add-ons when it is sold?, press Add an add-on group and name it, such as Wrapping.

  2. Under Customer can, pick Pick one, Pick any or A note they type. Tick Must answer if they have to choose.

  3. Type each choice and what it adds to the price. To take money off, type a minus, such as -0.20. A product never goes below zero, whatever is picked.

Sell it online

  1. Open the product and press Sell in the Online Shop.

  2. Your website lists it with the same options, prices, add-ons and stock. Customers pick a version and pay by PayNow.

  3. An online order takes its stock when you confirm the payment, and gives it back if you cancel. The shop sells from your default location, set in Settings.

Questions

Do sizes and colours count as extra products?

No. They are versions of one product, each with its own stock count.

Can one version cost more than another?

Yes. Each version has its own price and cost, such as L at S$62 and M at S$59.

Does an add-on come off my stock?

No. An add-on only changes the price. If gift wrap is something you count, add it as a product of its own.
